If you have arthritis and desire to live independently with arthritis, you're not on your own there's over 58 million people in the United States alone that suffer from it.
Individuals are at many different levels of arthritis progression, some more debilitating than others, and each stage has its own struggles.
Many or most of those individuals are attempting to find ways to live more independently with arthritis.
I have tried and do many different things, to try and improve my pain level and mobility, I cover some of them in my about me page.
A few of them are diet, supplements, exercise and even state of mind. There are so many aspects that effect our health and any diseases we may struggle with.
The fact that there are also different types of arthritis, which one of mine causes skin issues. Which is another aspect I have to consider when looking for solutions.
Surgeries and slowed healing time is another struggle for many with arthiritis. I have had many surgeries and joint replacements due to wear and tear, falls and broken bones. The total is somewhere around 20, so I hope to add a bit of insight to that catagorie as well.
However, the goal of this website is to focus more on improving daily function and mobility, while you work with your health provider/s for improved health.
Even Daily tasks can sometimes seem daunting with any disibility.
Sometimes even a seemingly small task, such as opening a cabinet, or jar, or even a fridge door can seem daunting, as well as painful. The list of difficulties is extensive and is dependent on your degree of pain and damage from arthritis.
Of course arthritis is not the only disease that can cause difficulty in accomplishing daily tasks, but it is an extremely common one.
The tips I will be sharing on this website are not exclusively for arthritis sufferers.
However, my experience is specifically with Arthritis, and striving to live a more independent lifestyle in spite of arthritis.
It did not come without a lot of trial and error and some discouraging moments even with tears. I've had arthritis since 2008 and went through a very difficult time in which I had to go into long-term care.
I was in a Long-term care facility for 6 years and entered not being able to walk on my own or do a lot for myself. It was very discouraging.
I'm hoping that any of my experiences might help others to get to their level of independence at a quicker pace and less painful journey.
If you have come upon a helpful tip for living with a disibility, I would love for you to add it to my Share page:
